Samaras Fails To Split Front Two.
McDonald And Vennegoor Head Celtic Attack.
The Scottish Premier League really kicks off tomorrow when champions Celtic host St Mirren. However fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Greek star Georgios Samaras may have to wait a while longer as manager Gordon Strachan is sticking with Scott McDonald and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink up front.
"We have two strikers who scored 50 goals so you try to find a system that compliments your best parts.", said Strachan.
Scott McDonald stole the show last year scoring 31 goals in his debut season. Yet it is Vennegoor who is showing promise for the new season. The dutchman who came to life at the end of last season has had a great pre season, scoring against Middlesborough, Porto and Feyenoord.
This partnership will be the first to last 2 seasons since the famous triangle of Hartson, Sutton and Larsson. Celtic are hoping to make it 4 in a row and with these two prolific strikers up front their is every chance of this happening.
