Barcelona Starlet on his way?
Barcelona Starlet on his way?
Celtic are reported to be targeting a season long loan deal for Barcelona’s latest starlet Marc Crosas. At just 20 years old Barcelona have high hopes for their young midfielder, who has been compared to the Catalan giants' superstar Xavi Hernandez by former France and Barcelona defender Lillian Thuram.
Crosas had a successful loan spell last season at French champions Olympic Lyonnais, but will once again find first team opportunities limited this season. Barcelona’s new manager Pep Guardiola has high hopes for Crosas and will not sanction a permanent transfer. It is thought he is keen to send him out on a season long loan to aid his development. Seville have also been linked but it is thought Guardiola would prefer Crosas to go to a different league. With the Catalans enjoying the last two summers on pre-season tours in Scotland, it is thought that they would be keen to strike a deal with Celtic as they can offer the youngster Champions League football. An insider expressed...
"Guardiola likes the Scottish mentality, work ethic and team spirit. Moving to Celtic for a year would also give Marc Champions League experience."
