Celtic Bid For Roma Full Back

It is understood today, that Celtic are extremely interested in gaining the signature of Roma left back, Vitorino Antunes.

The 21 year old, signed for Roma for £1million one year ago. However he hasn't had as many first team chances as he would have liked and is weighing up his options. Meanwhile Roma are still undecided whether to let him go.

Either way, Celtic have made an 'interesting' offer and will be looking to Vitorino to replace current left back, Lee Naylor. The Englishman seems to want to head back down south after a dip in form, compared to his first season at Parkhead, and with Aston Villa interested it paves the way for Antunes to take his place.

The Portuguese U21 international is highly sought after, but the lure of Champions League football could be too much for the youngster to resist. His agent admits Celtic's offer is an intresting one, " Other clubs want him but Celtic have made us a very intresting proposal which we are considering".
