Boulahrouz to become a Bhoy ? "While McFadden looks to exit Birmingham"
Boulahrouz to become a Bhoy ?
"While McFadden looks to exit Birmingham"
According to reports today from The News of The World Chelsea’s Dutch International Khalid Boulahrouz is subject to a £5 million move to Celtic. Chelsea who paid £8.5 million for his services from Hamburg in 2006 are thought to be looking to move the player nick named “The Cannibal” out of Stamford Bridge.
Boulahrouz who has had a fantastic Euro 2008 is thought to be wanted by Marseille amongst others. However Gordon Strachan looks to be eager in his attempts to secure the 23 times caped defender´s signature.
However It is understood that Boulahrouz is aware of Celtic´s interest but is not thought to be ready to make an immediate decision on his future.
His wife Sabia, prematurely gave birth to their daughter, who subsequently died tragically at a Lausanne hospital. Boulahrouz featured in Holland´s extra time defeat by Russia in last night’s Euro 2008 quarter final. His team mates wore black armbands as a mark of respect.
Meanwhile James McFadden’s futrure took another twist today as his agent Willie McKay. Confirmed his client is looking to move on from St Andrews after only six months at the club.
McKay said: "James has told me that he wants to leave."He is happy when Alex McLeish gave him an opportunity to play first-team football every week but it's a short career and he wants to play at the highest level."
McFadden, 25, signed a three-and-a-half-year contract when he arrived at Birmingham and has scored four goals in 12 games.
Stories circulated Saturday suggesting that McFadden was expected to depart Birmingham following relegation from the Premier League, with Celtic keen on securing his services. It was later rebuffed by Birmingham Chairman David Gold who expressed McFadden is not for sale.
Immediately reports from BBC Sport claimed that sources at Celtic clarified that the Scottish giants have not expressed an interest in the 25-year-old Scotland international.
Blues manager McLeish followed up the story this morning by insisting McFadden is not available for transfer and will stay with Birmingham for next season.
He told the Sunday Mail: "We're not in the business of selling our best players.”We don't need to. James is absolutely vital to our plans."
Cristiano Ronaldo anyone?

boulahrouz has really impressed me at the euros. i thought he was an absolute dud at chelsea. terrible news about his daughter.
apparently celtic aren't prepared to spend £5 mill on faddy because we have naka and mc geady but naka was a big dissapointment last season and we rely on aiden too much so i'd love to finally see mc fadden at parkhead. he can play 4 different positions and we're not short on cash so he'd be perfect

welcome back clagan.
Boulahrouz would be a great coop, if he is proven at the euro's defensively then i don't see why he wouldn't be good enough for celtic

he has looked impressive but he's been playing at RB, at chelsea he always looked like he would make a mistake when he played CB

well i think that was the problem with making mick captain, he is undroppable now but i believe he could force one of the two out of the team and do well for us

It would be great if we could get him, I'm liking the fact that this close-season, we're being linked to genuinely quality players and it seems we can now afford them. I think credit has to be given to Peter Lawell for that, he's done a great job on the financial side.

boularouz will deffo be a good signing, going by his euro performance, before that he was pretty much a flop, heres hoping he comes and pulls it off.
Every season for god knows how long we have been linked with faddy, i just dont see the pull with him? am i missing something? but i think there is nothing great about him at all.
For the supposed money we could be paying for him, why are we not scouring brazil or argentina and buying a player a few years younger, half the price and twice the talent, i hate when we are linked with all these championship players and bit part premiership squad players, paddy mccourt being an exception in this case , for the simple reason he is paddy mccourt
