Wenger sizes up Boruc ?
Wenger sizes up Boruc ?
Reports emerged today that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc. Poland's first choice keeper represented his country in yesterday's 2-0 defeat to tournament favourites Germany but acquitted himself well as the defence in front of him was, at times, cut open with ease. He has previously been linked with possible moves to AC Milan, Internazionale and Barcelona. Ironically Boruc's opposite number in the Euro 2008 match was Jens Lehemann - the man he could replace at Arsenal.
Boruc has recently signed a new contract at Celtic but there are rumours of an 'understanding' between Boruc and the Glasgow giants that if a huge offer comes in Celtic will not stand in his way. It remains to be seen whether Boruc would be tempted by a move to Arsenal or may indeed be holding out for a club which would improve his chances of winning the Champions League. Barcelona would seem to be a favoured option, as would Milan and possibly Manchester United who may look to replace the aging Edwin van der Saar. A good tournament for Boruc may leave him with several offers to ponder.

agree on the man utd front. he's good enough for them, but why are man utd f-king about on it though? van der sar is getting old and needs replaced - you'd think they'd put in a bit of interest... think tbh they might have someone else in their sights.

Van Der Sar might have another year or two left in him , he didn't have a bad season there and goalkeepers generally can go ontoi what 38/39? can you see Boruc taking a place on the bench? IMO no he would want first team football from the start...not a bench player no doubt the intrest is there though.

I know how good king artur is for us but if ac milan say that cant afford him then surely celtic must want crazy money for him upwards of £15 million after all this is a team with cash who are intrested in drogba ronaldinho and so on. Arsenal on the other hand have manuel almunia and lukasz fabianski as keepers and i highly doubt they would pay that kind of money for a keeper. Artur boruc i think will b with us for at least another season as peter lawwell will pull out al the stops to keep him

I think he is as good as gone already. The money that we are talking about is way way too much for us to reject. How else can we be linked to Bent and Pavy.
He will be missed no doubt but when it comes down to it 10 million for a keeper thats like winning the lottery.
