Mendes is NOT better than Hartley.
He's rarely started for Portsmouth, behind Diarra Diop Krancjar Muntari and Utaka in midfield. He has a lovely long shot and his passing is decent, but his stamina and defending is poor.
We shouldn't get rid of Donati- he's snubbed an offer from Italy to try and prove himself. Whenever I watch videos of his reaction after the Shaktar/Milan wins I always feel he deserves a chance as you can see how much Celtic winning means to him (and his long passing is nothing short of spectacular).

Edu is the best of the 3, i've always thought Bresciano was distinctly average tbh and Mendes blows hot and cold otherwise Redknapp would have kept him.
If anyone watches MLS highlights they'll have seen Edu, he has a new trick every week.

Mendes reminds me of Tugay keeps the ball good passing a bit slow.
Bresciano not seen enough of him but what I have seen is a midfield player who is full of energy and somewhat combative looks to have a terrific left foot.
Edu - Hammer mate I bow to your better knowledge the way you describe him from the sounds of it we should be concerned. I would be a bit disapointed if they get him. As I was hoping we would sign a high profile American to further enhance our brand out there.

It's not that extensive tbh, i've seen him maybe once in a full game. They do a sort of trick section, typical americans, and he's highlighted every single week!

Mendes isn't that good a player as people are making out on here. he really isn't. when he was linked with us, i wasn't exactly happy as he isn't better than what we have at the club.
Bresciano is the best player that they've been linked with. if he goes to Rangers i'll be very surprised.
