£800 To make bad decisions....knocked it off !! - TalkCeltic

I canny believe that SPL Referees have the audacity to ask for £800 a game when most own their own businesses or are a professional i.e lawyer, doctor, architect etc and earn around £100,000 a year in their normal job. I mean it would not be so bad if half of them had a scoobie and were overall in control and competent 99.99% of the time after all we all make mistakes, but when you look at the shambles of mike mccurry in the Huns V Dundee United game at ibrox towards the end of last season i see it as a bit of an insult to ask for a pay rise afterall Mr McCurry was not the only ref last season to have a complete shocker bordering on a sham.

Opinions please !!

I should think the 800 quid they're asking for is to cover their income tax.

Mike McCurry didnt make mistakes in the Huns v United game, he was blatantly cheating and for that should be banned from every refereeing again and made to pay Dundee United compensation.

Ofcourse, we all know that will never happen in what is currently corrupt Scottish football.

It was blatant cheating, thats why i dont think they should be paid 800 quid a game, and i was not saying mc curry made a mistake i was saying you can allow for a mistake but that clearly was not one.

Exactly and now that they are getting £800 a game seems like the sfa are rewarding him for cheating

am a ref and mostly do u'19s, I keep up with play due to my age and being fit, I would say I get 95% correct on the day am not perfect and when I make a mistake I hold my hands up, but I dont have linesmen to help me out with the wee 50/50s. I think that £800 is too much due to they make to many big mistakes and thats with linesmen.
