Server Busy
Not trying to moan/complain, just letting yous know the server was busy for me from around 11 this morning to just literally now...I tried logging out/logging in, but it didn't work, is this because I'm on an ip address that all virgin customers in my area use.....

I think it is my exchange mate, everybody in my area has Virgin broadband, literally hundreds of us. I logged in/out on many occasions but it was always server busy, oh well it's nothing major, as long as we're still here and I eventually get on, it's all good....

This problem has become more and more common and its begining to spoil the site. Must be lurkers. Maybe it should be register only or restricted in some way if you dont. Or is there a technical solution? It seems to happen at the worst possible time whenever there is something new worth talking about.

server busy (again)
Cant find the thread I posted last night. Have the thought police removed it  or maybe I am just being blind  . This server being too busy thing is happening a lot in the last few months, particularly when there is some footie news. I am guessing this must be down to lurkers. Is there either a technical solution to this or perhaps we should have registration only (but still free). Or would that be a problem with adverts/sponsors etc

i dont know if this can be done ,but can members not get priority over the guests ,in such a way if a member was trying to signi n ,but got server to busy ,the member would automatically cut off a guest ,i dunno if this can be done ?

yep there is no doubt that unless there is a tecnical solution to this, oontributors (i.e. posters) and even registered lurkers should get preference over non-registered lurkers. Otherwise this site will become too much hastle if you have to try 20 times over 4 hours to get on. Recently I have not been able to get on for hours at a time on several days, usually predicatable peak times. This will evenitually scare off people. You used to be able to get in if you hit refresh contrantly for a few minutes but now that doesnt even work. Mods - this is a major issue.
