can someone tell me why Celtic Fans are referred to as TIMs?

The reason we are called Tims is because the nickname of the club "Bhoys" rhymes with Tim Malloy's. This name, Tim Malloy, was a generic term given to Catholic Irish immigrants. Some Celtic fans still use the term "The Tim Malloys" referring to the Bhoys.

I thought it was to do with a certain shampoo from Dundee (Tim O Tay)
