Keep this thread going mate, I am having a shit time with the nags recently. Any tips?
I love Cheltenham and usually take time off but I spent a lot last year and have decided to calm down a bit and will just have the odd small bet and stay out the pub. Saving my betting money for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Well we should beat last year's miserable total ..what was it 5??and only 1 on the last 2 days.
Kicking King would have been a bit of a banker i think..The ground is bound to be fairly soft as well..should take the Champion Hurdle tomorrow Sizing Europe, Sublimity,Harchibald..all have a good shout....

A few of us are planning to go next year and join in the craic, heard it's brilliant with the Irish going nuts. I for one will be backing the Irish this year, tend to get good odds and a few surprises too. If I hear of any tips I'll let you know, I usually get one good un probably for one of the bumpers.
Hail Hail and be lucky.

Cheltenham Day 1 Tips:
2.00 Supreme Novices
With betting going 8/1 the field, there is a chance of a big priced horse finding the frame. Anything that has decent form on the ground (likely to be on the soft side of good) will do the trick. So have a look at Pasco each way at 16/1 or better still Calgary Bay at 40/1 each way
2.35 Arkle
One of the meeting bankers runs here, look no further than Noland – current at 9/4 but this will end up close to 13/8, 6/4 at the off. Form an orderly queue when you collect you winnings.
3.15 Champion Hurdle
Loads with decent claims here. Sizing Europe is all the rage, but I have my doubts that 2/1 is value for this. Last year Sublimity hacked up the hill to win this race but was poor last time out. Lightly raced this term is a big negative for me. Osana, Katchit will be in the mix coming round with 2 furlongs to go, but I think the owners of Harchibald will be filing towards the winners enclosure soon after quarter past three tomorrow. Sure he done me big time at Kempton on Boxing Day, and no prep race would be a concern had it not been for the race on the flat at Dundalk recently when he destroyed a decent field over a mile 4 furlongs. A very classy sort, Harchilbald at 6/1 ticks my boxes here
4.00 Handicap Chase
So with our pockets lined with cash so soon into the meeting, revert back to small stakes and and each way steal with Abregante trading at 11/1. Anything with decent form on the ground will come close in this slog. Abregante meets the criteria quite well
4.40 X Country
Again back to another each way steal and I like Kilbeggan Blade at 20/1. On paper this has a chance, trouble is that its over the turf and hills at Cheltenham, but at 20's and each way the first 4 home, I'll go with Kilbeggan Blade
5.20 Fred Winter
So with 5 winners safely bagged, shall we be greedy and go for all 6, you bet we will and River Liane has it all in this final race of day 1. 2nd fav at 7/2, I think there is sufficient to suggest this will be favourite by the time Noel Edmonds has finished Deal or No Deal.
So there you have it, 6 winners for Day 1 of Cheltenham, Happy Punting Everybody and back with more tomorrow

[quote=Graham1888;466577]Anyone interested,any gamblers,tipsters, losers on the site?
Big one tomorrow is the Smurfit Champion hurdle...i'll be sticking with Sublimity in that one
i will be opposing sublimity as he was disappointing on his last outing and about 18 of the last 23 winners have won their previous race.i'm going for sizing europe ( 5/2),a worthy favourite imo he beat osana cosily, who had sublimity back in 4th in the boylesports.farmer brown could be good value each-way at a big price.
i'm also going for noland ( 9/4) in the arkle as i have heard paul nicholls talk him up and should take all the beating.
until saturday my banker was river liane in the fred winter but after seeing ashkazar win in good style in the imperial cup i may sit on the fence as the trainer did the same double last year with gaspara
kauto star ( evens) should be another banker later in the week as his jumping has been faultless(touch wood)
best of luck fellas

I stuck to my guns and didn't bet saving my money for tomorrow, thursday and friday. I picked out the 2nd place in the Arkle and An Accordion and Grande Champetre took the honours in the last two races. I would have been quids in had I bet - just my luck. I will probably get zero tomorrow when I put money on it. I picked out Harchibald for the Smurfitt Champion Hurdle - disappointing show there and none of my other pics in the other races were placed either. I would have been well up though with my two £5 singles.
