Well they were man-shaming Wexford in the Leinster quarterfinals until they paid the price for taking their foot off the gas, and look at how well Wexford have got on.

i thought kildare looked promising too, mc geaneys doing a good job. wicklow gave a few teams a game and loais have been threatening to win a provincial title for the past 10 years. always seem to do well in the minors but cant do it with the senior panel

Yep. Westmeath also looked handy last season, even though they play with one forward most of the time.
Next season's Leinster Championship should be good. Hopefully the Dubs won't win it again.

no ciaran whelan or sherlock next season so you never know. leinster football will be a lot more competitive next year anyway but i'd still put my house on the cats winning the hurling

Well of course we're gonna win the hurling.
Let's just hope the Munster Championship throws up a few crackers again next year.

i used to think the munster hurling championship was better than the all ireland finals! how times have changed, tipp and clare just aren't the same anymore. the game between them this year had more wides than any other championship match i'd seen in my life. been a dissapointing year all round for GAA i think

Yep. Attendances are down as well.
I think one of the main problems is how easily frees are given by referees.

and the aussie rules scouts sniffing round isn't too good for the game either. the likes of tommy walsh, donaghy and sean cavanagh would be brilliant in aussie rules i think. the central council needs to do something quickly or i think we're gonna lose a lot of young talent

I agree. I'm sure something will be done about it, though.

i know its a dirty word in gaelic games but what about wages? if eircom league players can go pro or even semi pro with shite attendances and lower levels of sponsorship than the GAA then why shouldn't hurlers and footballers?
