Yes the first time I saw American football was back in the early 80's and I liked the Raiders uniforms and there reputation as the outcast team.

Been following the Giants since about the mid 80's but haven't had time to see much of the season at all for the past few years.

Dallas Cowboys all the way!!
I have been a big Dallas Cowboys fan for the last 24 years. I went out to Texas on an American football trip back in 1994 and saw two Cowboys games which were great (we won both). That was in the middle of our great run of 3 Superbowls in 4 years. Boy, did we have a great team at that time. However, our present team is improving all the time and looking good not just for the play-offs but the Superbowl. We are 5-0 at the moment. Our offense is spectacular (apart from last week's game!) and our defense is looking top notch as well. We also have a great young kicker who had to kick his game-winning field goal twice last week from 53 yards and made both. Not bad for a rookie in his first season of the NFL. I am looking forward to watching this sunday's game against the Patriots over the internet. I am convinced we have the beating of them, and I know my fellow Cowboy fans feel the same way as I have recently been spending a lot of time over at the Dallas Cowboys forum page on the club's website.

Well it certainly will be a big test of where they are at. But I think the Patriots will win.

Good call, Eire4, though it kills me to say it! I was very disappointed in the Cowboys. I didn't catch the game on the internet as I had hoped and 'saw' the early stages through the play by play on NFL.com. It made for sad reading! We just could not move the ball early at all. When I checked the Cowboys site I was amazed we actually had a lead at one point (24-21) early in the third quarter as I thought we were going to get our asses whipped big time. Still a bad defeat, though. I only hope they get their act together for next week's game or this could turn ugly! Still proud to be a Cowboys fan, though. When you have lived through a 1-15 season as I did back in 1989 or thereabouts, then losing one game is not that big a deal. Hey! I'm a Celtic fan, too, so I know what loyalty is all about (especially during those awful days when the Huns won their 9 in a row! Different story now, though!)

No shame in getting beat by the Patriots who IMHO are the best team in the league. Dallas have a very good team this year but just not good enough to win it all. At this point Indianapolis and the Partiots are the class of the league.

Funny enough, the dallas cowboys were the first time I heard of (due the tv show walker texas rangers) and I remember the time when they won a few superbowls. the 2nd team I knew of were the 49ers because of jerry rice. nontheless I have always liked the raiders, because I liked the name and the logo. also NWA used to wear raiders caps. on the other hand the raiders supporters are known for their passion and they are a bit like "european fans".
