Those wrestlers are still there, they brought back DX (Trips tore his triceps again in jan so it's been shelve til he's recovered), Takers won the belt, Kanes uppermidcarding and Bret's been retired after he recieved an injury in WCW 8 years ago, those days aren't actually as good as you remembered them the lower/mid card was worse back then than it is today, the big difference between today and than is that the present WWE doesn't have a charismatic champion, if you look back from the start of the Attitude era (1997) to the start of the Invasion era (2001) you had champions such as Austin, Rock and Jericho, nowadays we have Cena who is actually charismatic but who's just been saddled with Hogan Syndrome and Batista who doesn't put any effort into it anymore.
Alot of the new guys in the WWE are actually brimming with talent, fellows such as Punk, Burke, Cor Von, Kennedy and Cena, they've just been caught in a indefinate loop because Vince McMahon preferes to hire sit-com writers rather than actual writers and it sucks because these guys are pretty cool too (unlike Carlito who will be likely buried soon). |

I think nostalgia is getting the better of you, you're calling X-Pac immence  , RIP Yokozuna though, he was a great heel. Watch this match, it stars some of the new guys, you have to say they put on an entertaining match along with the ECW classics:
