The Mets have just called up a knuckleballer into their rotation. His name is R.A. Dickey and he will be starting against the Phillies tomorrow night. You might want to keep an eye for him if you are in to knuckleballers.

A horrible call, I feel bad for everyone involved including the umpire. Would be a nice touch by the Commish to have it overturned.

heard Galarraga on the phone talking with some espn guys and he said nobody is perfect, everybody makes mistakes. he wasn't even fury or mad, nothing whatsoever.
he came across as a real good guy.
shame, because he would have deserved a perfect game.
would be a class story if his next game was a perfect one

Injuries have completely destroyed the Red Sox season, they're still only 6 games off first place but realisitically this season is burst for Boston.
Hope the Giants can make the NL play-offs and do some damage.

Morrow almost pitched a no-hitter today, came down to the last out. It was somewhere in between an error/hit. Anybody else see that.

I have to say the Red Sox are doing a sterling job to still only be 6.5 games back of the Yankees and the Rays, who are probably the two best teams in baseball. When you read the list of injuries the Red Sox have endured this season it is just mental. Most teams would have completely folded under the weight of that many injuries to key players.
There'll be no play-offs in Boston this year but the team will come out of this season with some credit and with reasons to feel optimistic looking ahead. There are still some issues to be resolved on this team - Mike Lowell, Dice K and the need for another big bat being the main 3 that spring to mind but the organisation is in a strong position and I think the Red Sox can be a challenger again in 2011.
