Brown triumphs in matchplay final

Scotland's Caroline Brown beat the top seed to win the Women's World Matchplay bowls title in Norfolk on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old former world and British Isles junior champion defeated defending champion Ellen Falkner of Ely in straight sets, 9-4 10-5.
It was Brown's second singles final in three years.
Brown, from Motherwell, secured a 7-6 9-8 win over Carol Ashbyk in the semi-final on Tuesday to set up the encounter with Falkner.
There were two shock results in the world indoor singles as world number one Greg Harlow and three-times former world champion Paul Foster both failed to reach the last eight.
Harlow, last year's runner-up, lost 7-6 6-5 to Billy Jackson while Scotland's Foster lost to 20-year-old qualifier Jamie Chestney 7-5 9-5.
Harlow said: "He played exceptionally well. He never really missed an opportunity, he never missed a shot.
"I really wanted to win this title, so I'm disappointed to go out at this stage. But I wasn't disappointed with the way I played."
Jackson said: "I've learned a lot over the past two years and this has really helped my game."
Foster said: "I started brilliantly and could have gone 5-0 up but the game completely changed after that third end - and he didn't give me a chance thereafter."
Chestney said: "This has got to be my best result ever but I'm more interested in the prize money than the ranking points at this stage."

What a intense match that was, was so thrilling
