American and Canadian sport teams generally don't have class/political affiliations attached to them. Maybe the Canadiens because they used to be committed to playing a certain way and won championships doing it, and are also a national symbol of Quebec.

Not really all of it, the Nordiques were the team for all the francophones in Quebec when they were around, and the main reason they were moved is that everything was in French (broadcasting, advertising, and the players needed to speak it) which also brought limited marketing potential.

 Yes you are having quite a bad season. One of my mates is a ducks fan so he's been getting a bit of a hard time from me.
That was a sore one the other night against the Blue Jackets, 5-2 after we beat them 6-0 the night before.
We managed to get a point last night against the blackhawks away, I'll take that!

happy to see the Habs are in good form, making a push for the playoffs though my other team Dallas seem to be pretty poor this season
