Flyers signed Mike Richards to a 12 year around 69 million dollar contract.
I like it. Hes our most complete player since Brind Amour and we let Brind Amour leave.

Originally a Penguins fan since I grew up in the Burgh during the Lemieux years...the good and the bad!
Tough to watch them now though living in ohio so I have been following the Columbus Blue Jackets on TV. So i would say i follow the Pens and the Jackets. Good thing they are in different Conferences.
I think it is Ottawa's year to win the cup.

Hard core Sens fan here! When I'm not here on the Celtic board, I can usually be found over on the Sens board at HFboards. The Pizza line is playing great this year but I think Murry needs to sign that extra top 6 forward at the deadline (cap space might be an issue though) to give us two really dangerous lines. I keep hoping the Sens will redeme themselves for their Cup finals loss last year, but if they want to beat teams like Detroit or Anaheim then they need to have two big lines. It was too easy for the Ducks to shut down Alfie, Heater, and Spez last year with their amazing defence. I hope that all the teams do well this year, but Detroit scares me, they really look like the real deal. As for us Sens fan, we'll have to wait and see what Murry does and how the Gerber/Emery situation plays out. Goaltending has always been an achillies heal for the Sens in the playoffs. Go Sens go!

Ya the winter classic sounds cool, and the Sabers and Pens are always exciting teams to watch. My boyfriend and I were thinking of making the trip down to see it if we can get tickets. The classic atmosphere will be great and Crosby verses Miller is always cool.

Senators fan? Seems to be that now every team I hate has a fan on this board.
Pens, Rangers, Devils, Maple Leafs and now senators.
I take that back no Lightning fans on here! I think.

Wow that's impressive, you hate almost half of the Eastern Confrence. Lol! The only team I despise is, surprise surprise, The Leafs. I am not a big fan of the Canadiens or Sabers either, but don't hate them. Rivalries make the game so much more fun right? I also don't have anything against Phily except for that bastard Downie because of his taking out Dean MacAmmond. I wouldn't even hate Downie if it was a hit against one of our agitators like Neil. Every team has their tough guys that are expected to give and take big, brutal hit, but poor Dean-o-mac is a good ol'vet who's never done anything to anyone. Anyways, after that rant I really don't have anything against Phily and love how they have improved their team this year. Briere is such an exciting player to watch. The Sens and Flyers still have one of the best modern day hockey brawls and the Flyers were and hopefully will be fun to play in the playoffs.

One other question. Why do you hate the Sens so much? I just think it's interesting because Philly is not a team that most Sens fans would consider themselves rivals with. Leafs, Canadiens, Sabers, and Anahiem would be the teams that the majority of us would consider to be our rivals and am not sure exactly what Philly fans have against us.

Well you must either be a Devils fan or a Leaf fan. Out of the Sens, Leafs, or Devil, the Sens are definatley not the chokers. Didn't the Sens beat the Devils in 5 games in the second round? haha Ya they totally sound like chokers. The Sens made it to the cup final last year, which is a hell of a lot better than 28 other teams in the league can say. All I can say is Sens are 1st in the East and made it to the finals last year. The Sens are chokers . Maybe I sound arogant but I am sick of fans of teams we beat going back to calling the Sens choking dogs when their team just choked against us.

what do you think of martin gerber mate? most sens fans I came across want emery back and some of them wished even to get destroyed (a sens defeat!) when gerber was between the pipes, just to make sure emery started the next game.

I have not quite made up my mind yet. The goalie controversy is going strong right now since the coaching staff has been complaining that Emery has not been working hard enough in practice and he has been throwing some tantrums about not getting played enough. I don't like the idea of a guy signing a big contract and then deciding not to work hard. So one hand I don't think the team needs Rayzor's drama in the locker room, plus he hasn't played that well lately. On the other hand as others have said, Darth Gerber has been strong lately, but has been historically inconsistent. Goal tending has constantly been a problem for the Sens but we have time and don't need to make a move right away. My opinion is that they should stick with the hot goalie right now, and that is Gerber, but Emery should be given a few more games. He won't get into game shape if he is playing less than once a week. I don't think the Sens should give up on the Goalie that got them to the Stanley cup finals, but they don't have to move anyone until the off season anyways. I think if Gerbs got his head together and could prove that he can play under pressure like Emery did, then I'd actually keep him over Emery. Emery has more tradability and seems to have become a distraction to the rest of our players. Gerbs would have to have a very good rest of the season and a good Cup run in order to convince he that his is defiantly our #1 guy though.
