Andy Murray's progess has been astounding, how Zara Phillips won the sports personality of the year above him - hell he wasn't even in the running!! Shame on Britain!!
The guy is in the quarters of the 1st slam of the year without dropping a set, he's at 16-1 to win the title, worth a tenner? I might just pop a wee bet on him, he's playing great & has real Scottish grit & determination.
A future world number one! He probably still won't get any recognition amongst the vast majority of "British" sports fans even then.
C'Mon Murray, get it up them!!

Nadal will be a mighty fine test to see how his credentials are setting up.

Murray is a Hibs fan ain't he? It's either Hibs or Hearts.

Anyway, Murray is on blinding form. It will be a tough game against Nadal, but I'm sure it'll be close, considering he's beat Roddick, Federer etc. I think if Murray wins against Nadal, he can get to the final.

And isn't it a coincidence that once a Scot is doing good, he is now British?

I think Murray is a Barcelona man, he was on soccer AM a while ago and was saying how he spent many years living just outside Barcelona at a tennis academy and frequently went to Barca games so they are his team.

What Andy Murray has acived so far is immense, and its only the start.

It certainly gives us a much better chance of winning Wimbledon that Tim Henman ever gave us, makes it much more watch-able.

Anyone think Murray can do it at Wimbledon this coming summer?

If he was English he would be the greatest tennis player on earth and he would have been built up too much.

But he is scottish and we keep it in moderation and we dont get ahead of ourselves so keep it up Andy

hail hail

I've no time for him. IMO he completely lacks the Scottish grit referred to above. I remember him a couple of years ago withdrawing from a match because he was exhausted. How can a professional sports man in his late teens be tired. It was bizarre, and I don't think it was the only time. He seems to withdraw from matches more than normal.

When the Dunblane school murders happened he was a pupil at the school.

I am certain I heard it once on the radio. They said that he doesn't like to talk about it or, understanably, have it publicised.

Yeah, well who would? He must have lost a lot of friends. Anyways, back on topic...

Andy Murray lacks Scottish grit & determination!!

How the hell did he break into the world's top 20 in one professional season, he's already won (I think) 2 ranking events & has beaten the best player who has ever lived - in his prime...Federer!!
Not to mention Safin, Roddick etc...

He annihilated that guy today, the same guy who beat him in the same competition last year...how's that for determination.

Aye he was getting tired a lot last season, he seems to have a reoccuring ankle injury. But he's still growing & if you know anything about sport, what Andy Murray has achieved in such a short space of time is nothing short of phenomenal....I truly expect im to be a future World number one & he's a pure bred Scotsman!!

Excellente, mi Amigos
