it was to give it effects, a sig with few effects is a shite sig imo

and yeah i agree wiht you true-tim, a sig without effects looks pish also doesnt look like much work has been put in.

Agree nice sig ... looks nice and clean and sharp .. not all dull and looking full of noise
Agree sometimes effects should be put in but not over the render itself (MPO) Takes the eye from the render
Graphics also look pish to someone who does GFX if they aint blended properly
2 main things I have learnt in GFX (and try to stick to )is Blending and Light Source without them the
image is a non starter
Alot of work goes into my sigs without every one having some type of effect in.. some have cads,wireframe/styles/gradient maps/various brush a effects/shapes and all images being through filters etcs .... so hardly not much work gone in ;)
I personally like clear sharp image but everyone to there own ,,, btw i thought this one was and is good I am responding to other comments

i know it isnt a great sig but i do it when i'm bored, i dont really try to make it great thats sad imo. I was bored so i made a sig, i dont care about lighting and such. Like it or dont like it its up to you.
