mate i need to ask have you only changed the stats or have you changed the the potential and current ability(PA-CA).
usually instead of tweaking each and every stat, you can just make his CA and PA to a higher value, and after 1-3 weeks it will change automatically.
so if a player has 165 CA and 169 PA, you might want to make him a bit better. then make his CA 175 and PA 175, save the game and it might change directly, but usually it takes a bit before his stats will go up
otherwise the stats will go down over time by themselves back to they way they were

lol i just created them, and added a config file...... a pain in the bum really! just got it working last night 
I finaly got my Graphics folder uploaded!  Its has everything you'll ever need for FM! Its massive,Has very near every team kit, flags and badges etc.
all you need to do it once unrared, place in your fm folder in your documents. Check the post furthur back for the location and what your documents should look like!
It only took 10 hours  to upload.
