Anti Virus? Common Sense 2008.
Free firewall? ZoneAlarm is the best one but it can be a resource hog.

I see you have Spybot S+D installed..do you use it in advanced mode and use the Resident function if not you should, it will advise you of any registery changes being made and you should also immunise after every scan.
If you have a problem with pop-ups go here Trend Micro HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan - Trend Micro UK and perform a scan..it takes ages but is usually very helpful.
Good luck!
Edit. Judging by the fact you are finding these pop-ups really tiresome I'd guess you may have the Trojan dropper Vundo..or Virtumonde. A really nasty piece of work, I had it a few months ago and had to Format to get rid of it.
You can also use Hijackthis and post your log on the MajorGeeks forum and they may be able to help.

I've used AVG and Spybot for several years without any problems.
Do you update their definitions regularly?

I'm using AVG 7.5 pro but i'm going to install AVG 8.0 pro later today
I'm also using NOD32 which is, the shit. You can't even tell it's running as it takes little memory and it can deal with just about anything

Nod32 is the best AV but you don't really need an AV unless you're using stupid sites, it's just a resource hog. There's nothing wrong with Windows Firewall and that's not only free it's already on your system (assuming you're using windows). Anti-Spyware wise grab the full AVG AS from mininova or any other torrent site.

Resource hog?! It uses less than 9k memory and CPU usage (when running in the background) is 00
