Utorrent.. How to install and use!

I've recently been asked how to use a bit torrent client, so I thought I'd post this! Might come in usefull to folks!

Step 1 . Google Utorrent and download 1.7.7 version! Then do the following...


You can go into preferences to alter anything you want, if you are getting slow downloads you might want to go to speed guide...and click enable encryption!

Step 2... Once installed goto a torrent site like Mininova here, or PirateBay IsoHunt etc.

Step 3... Type in the search bar for what your looking for...once you see the list, click the seeds button to get the most seeds! the more seeds the faster the download! !

Then click on the name of the file you want,which will open up like this...You can click the coments to see if its good quality etc, or just click the Download Now Button to start the downloading process.
You'll get this popup! just click open!
Then you'll get this on the Utorrent screen. Click Ok to start Downloading.

I think thats it.. Utorrent automatically creates a folder in your Documents called Downloads, this is where all your files go!

just unrar it... then place it in the skins folder in the sports interactive folder in your documents like this

Good tutorial mate...

Quick question.. how do you find utorrent.. I use Azureus and think that's really good, but I've been told utorrent is better....

p.s.. Where do you get torrents from.. I find Demonoid to be really good..

I use VUZE formerly known as Azureus.

Demonoid is ok for some things, all others I jut use Torrentz.com

Just to re-inforce a point made by JnrBhoy is his good wee tutorial..you must check the comments to ensure that the file is not a fake or contains a virus.

Take your time and research your downloads as many movie files are fake and lots of proprietary software files(winrar,winavi magiciso) are riddled with nasty trojans such as virtumonde , if you get infected with one you may find it very difficult to get rid of.

Mininova is a good search portal for those just starting with torrents and if your torrent client e.g. utorrent has a d/load scheduler then set it to d/load outwith peak times..say between 11pm and 6am, that way you should not fall foul of your ISP's fair usage policy and avoid been throttled.
