People say... That's not completely true. We actually can provide some good money if player is worth of it. Now, I'm against spending massive wages only on one player. I think Celtic will pay good wages to Boruc, Aiden, Broony etc. and they will make them top earners. I'm sure you'll agree with me that this has been massive relief for the club financially.

Yes,but as you said bobo has fleeced the fans,i think if bobo had of went when people wanted him to,i dont think the fans would have seen the wages invested back into the squad....so what i am saying is, i dont believe he fleeced the fans.

he should have went 3 seasons ago, if he really wanted to play football he would have gone when it was reported he was offered similar money to what he was on at Celtic.

To be honest mon gave him a silly contract and he rightly signed as would anyone so he cannot be blamed for that . He gave his all when he came in and at times was solid for us although there were also some high profile clangers but all in all a cult figure and someone id never wanna face as a striker so good luck to him in whatever he does and thanks for the memories

Mate, I'm saying that with my view as a Celtic fan. I can't forgive him the fact that he robed us. Literally. 5 millions during his 4 years spell. What the fuck!? I also can't forgive him the fact that he didn't leave when he had offers from others and he decided to stay, not play and suck money from the club. I still can't believe it... 5 millions...

I don't think anyone can blame Bobo, MON & the board offered him a massive contract & bonus which was going to be one of his last contracts as a player.
To be fair to Bobo, from what I understand he spent the money wisely, helping out his community in Guinea & various charities, so personally I have a lot of respect for him as a man, unlike most modern footballers who earn ridiculous money & spend it all on bling & clothes & a lavish lifestyle.
Bobo never let us down on when he played on the park, & it was Strachan's choice not to play Bobo, it wasn't as if Bobo refused to play for the club or made himself unavailable.
Unlike some of the current players he never resorted to bad mouthing Strachan or the club through the media, and i think he has handled the whole situation with dignity.
He would have been a villan if he hadn't signed that last contract & left Celtic for free, & after all it was MON that made the offer.

I'm glad we've got another big wage off the books, & I was frustrated that Bobo was staying put, but there's two sides to every story, & I'll be interested to see what he says about his time at the club.

Good luck Bobo & thanks for the memories.

The term legend gets banded around way too easily - he was a decent player for us for a few years no where near legendary status

I'd disagree with that. His choice not to play him as he didnt sign him but Balde had several opportunities to play football elsewhere, he chose money over a career. He's a leech for doing that whether he honoured his contract or not.

If he's a legend, what term is used to for describing the likes of Larsson, McGrain & Stein who all did significantly more for Celtic?

I think the way Bobo seen it was that the club were trying to shaft him, so he shafted them back by sticking to his contract because that is what the board wanted rid of the most.
