Celtic Scouts: Anybody know anything?
Googling hasn't brought up much in the way of enlightenment for me so far.
Does anybody know how extensive Celtic's scouting network is? It seems to have turned up a few interesting ones from abroad but how many actual scouts are there out there and where are they?
I know a lot of German clubs have hyperactive scouts scouring nearby Poland and Czech republic, cos it's nearby but Glasgow's not really nearby anywhere, unless you count Lanarkshire.
Does anybody know much about this?

Lubo does a bit of scouting for us.
From what i gather scouting is mostly freelance based in the sense you don't really scout for 1 particular club per se. I know a scout that works for Wolves within Scotland but will regularly recommend players to teams up here.

we have a worldwide scout and i think what happens is they have contacts in different countries who tip them off when sumit worth looking at comes up

If only we could sign young brazilians, shame most that we could afford wont get a work permit, its like that in quite alot of country's
But then again the 2 brazilians we have signed in the past have been just as bad as Virgo.

We have an American scout who tells us of young American talent like Guzan and Adu.He is the manager of Portland FC and good friends with Strachan, I know this cos I spoke to him on holiday.

Our scouting system is a bit secretive now. The scout who reccommended Sno has had his identity changed and is living in Europe somewhere.
The scout who suggested Virgo has been sectioned under the mental health act.

Scouts do their stuff and do it well (sometimes!) but I'm a fan of looking in our own backyard first and foremost. Didn't Caddis come up through our own youth system?
