i dont think he is tbh, I think the famine song was over-reacted, it didnt offend me at all, at the same time I can see why it did offend some.
Ive had problems with his columns before but this particular one I dont think is showing bias. he has a pop at the huns aswell and I think its just his opinion. Mountain out of a mole hill job.

Im sure some of the diehards of the 70's and 80's football terrace scene are probably laughing at the commotion over this song.

Fucking incredible. Talk about contradicting yourself, what a complete arse this guy really is.

He mocks us for wanting to uphold our Irish roots with passion, ridicules us for not celebrating our 'Scottish-ness', so he's basically saying we should, as a footballing nation, keep our Irish backgrounds for our own private life and not bring it to the football grounds.

Then he goes and dictates that it's ok for rangers fans to sing about something that happened in the country that has got absolutely fuck all to do with football, and makes out that we are idiots for being offended by it?

You start to run out of ways to say it and feel like your repeating yourself over and over, knowing that what you are saying is never going to change matters, but the media in this country couldn't be more blatantly one sided if they tried. Fuckin sickens me. What sickens me more is people from our own side that are either too lazy to spend any time time thinking about it, or are just to dim to realise they are being taken for fools by so called professional people who are meant to set standards.

The funny thing about traynor's comments is they lack any mention of the outrage that followed Artur Boruc blessing himself. Is this the supposed "Better things to worry about"?

W*nker!

Yeah Traynor's article is controversial.
I read it and agreed with him that there are more important things to worry about than what songs get sung but I also feel that football fans should stick to singing songs about football and nothing else.
A bit of light hearted banter is fine but offensive songs shouldn't happen.
There were other points in the article that I didn't like though.
