My concern...

Now that the transfer deadline has passed and we have not made any new signings. I must state my concern and also, the concern of a few of my mates and some on here too.

Going into the CL with the current crop of players and hoping to make the last 16 is, I think, now a dream. If we had signed a couple, then I would be more confident.

On Sunday the huns exploited our achilles heel and, lets be honest, WS is not a master tactician. Maybe he is good at motivating players, but tactically he is bereft of ideas. If he can pick a team and defeat us easily on our own patch, what will the teams in CL do to us? I fear the worst.

I am not overreacting to Sundays defeat because I still think we can win the league, we had a bad day on Sunday...and they were up for it. But, going into CL is a huge step up in class and I feel while we have some good players(some of whom have yet to play to their full potential) we are weak in some areas of the park. Noticably in defence. Our back 4 are squad players, no more than that. Should not be first pick, any of them.....

I am not going to slate players or the manager, who has done us proud over the 3 seasons he has been here, though he has been found wanting on a couple of occasions. But I am sorely disappointed with the board(again!!!!).

To conclude......I am worried going into CL.....scares me what a team like Man U could do to us on the form we showed on Sunday.

Thoughts?

Good post

Not all doom and gloom, and ur not suddenly discarding the teams (and managers) acheivements over the last few years. Some good points without going overboard which is nice to see lol.

Have to say i agree with u

Cheers mate

I wont rubbish the team in public.....there are enough out there who hate us and want to see us in the gutter and all the fans slagging the team and manager off....

So true. Its a shame as well. WGS had done well all things considered. But he needs to be better in the transfer market. IMO he needs to be less loyal to some of the poorer players and his rigid 4-4-2 system
