Debt or No Debt !! ??

Whilst looking at all these threads on the board being tight fisted ect it made me think ...What would you rather have ..A team full of high earners and the debt growing each year or the board fetching the debt down year on year ....The way i look at it is you can only win the same prize at the end of the day ..There is no magical trophy and prize money if you spend £XXXXX silly money ,the prizes remain the same ..... ..At the end of the day banks are going to call the debts in one day .We are already seeing this happen in the lower leagues in england ..Would you want to start the season playing catch up with minus points ????? This is reality not fantasy ...

totally agree, we cant go and buy players for this much and pay them that much as we are limited as to what earning's we can make each season

a left back wouldn't have put us in debt ffs.

especially when you could have gotten one instead of loovens, we didn't need cover for centre back, especially cover at 3 million.

Agree with Muttcutts , i think most Celtic fans know we are not going to go and splash 10 -30 million on anyone. But most wanted to see us strengthen a bit ! There are still quality players out there available for decent sums of money, rather than these over priced superstars. personally think the EPL is trashing football worldwide, salary caps need introducing.

Thats a good post ,
but we do have book keepers at parkhead hopefully ,who should be able to balance the books which right now they seem to be doing a great job .

Celtic must be sitting on some kind of money ,and to have a spending spree within reason shouldnt be out of the question ,we are the champs and we should be hammering it home to every team in scotland ,if its run properly there shouldnt be a problem regarding banks ,but sometimes i feel celtic are to cautious about moving forward .

I want to see a balance - but would rather have seen the £5.5 m we spent on 2 decent players who would walk straight into the first team.

You could argue that not one signing we have made is capable of commanding this.

I'd rather see Caddis and a couple of the reserves being used as back-up as opposed to buying 2nd rate bench warmers season in season out.

I'm sure with the debt down to 3 million, Graveson and Riordon away and with the knowledge of getting more CL money + more CL tv money, we could have signed a left back and a striker. These 2 positions would have made sure of the league title unless of course we were hit with horrendous injuries during the season. Maloney is an improvement and no doubt Loovens and Crosas will be a handy signings but they're not anything more than squad players to start with anyway.

As for the CL. Well I really thought we would have a go to advance further this year but instead I can see us struggling against the Danes for 3rd place. In fact we'd be better just getting knocked out IMO as I see the league as the important competition now.

Spending virtually no cash during this window will see us struggle again this year as we did last and it took great coaching from WGS to get us over the line with a very ordinary squad. You only have to look at the result at the weekend to know how tough this season's going to be now what with the extra games compared with our rivals. It's not as if we have a vast amount of youth players ready to break through either.

We're going to need a load of luck and to get behind the team more than ever this season to make sure we deliver 4 in a row and if we don't questions will be asked but please hold off until the season finishes this time folks.

3 million pound of debt is nothin considering our turnover , we should have spent but as usual the board where tight cunts yet they are happy supporters forking out for 2 kits a year etc
