Celtic striker rejects Turk move

Vennegoor of Hesselink has 18 international caps

Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has rejected a transfer to Galatasaray despite the offer of a substantially increased salary.
The Dutchman decided against moving to the Turkish champions, who missed out on the Champions League group stages after defeat by Steau Bucaresti.
Galarasaray were also interested in Rangers forward Daniel Cousin.
However, that transfer appears unlikely now that former Liverpool striker Milan Baros has joined the Turkish side.
Vennegoor of Hesselink, 29, is understood to be happy and settled in Glasgow, having been with Celtic since 2006.
MY SPORT: DEBATE
Would Celtic fans like to see Vennegoor of Hesselink stay or go?
The Netherlands international joined Gordon Strachan's side from PSV Eindhoven for £3.4m and has scored 38 goals in the last two seasons, helping Celtic retain the Scottish Premier League title and into the last 16 of the Champions League on two successive occasions.
Cousin saw a move to Fulham collapse earlier this year and has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer.
The 31-year-old has only featured once for the Ibrox side as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Falkirk.

Good man. I guess that is why WGS made him vice captain. I wonder what the value of the bid was?

I've always really fancied the big man, glad to see he's got his eye on the ball and not the green.

A think he,s hot and cold, sometimes he,s good sometimes he,s pish but the big man has scored some important goals for us, a think the big man would be a brilliant impact player, he would be good coming off the bench.

Take my hat off to him.

Don't like him in the slightest.

His loyalty is commendable.

Cracking big player i'm glad he's staying, European experience is vital to us and he brings a game intelligence not a lot of the players in our squad have.

Why are you 'surprised' if I may ask?

First pick striker, 20 goals last season, CL football, large crowds.....am I missing something?
