Champions leauge or uefa cup - again! suprise suprise.

think one thing really should be cleared up here - we are only in one of the two comp's right now. and that is the champions league. we're not in the uefa cup so "which one do you want"
dosn't come in to it.

Champions league or Scottish cup
Champions league or league cup
these are things that can be given as options.
these are the 4 comps we are in.


Yes it would be great to win the uefa cup IF we end up in the uefa cup. but we're not in the uefa cup...

To suggest we should aim to finish third is, amongst other things, wanting your team to "take a dive" if needed in order to finish third

Last 8 would be great. The money and the prestige for getting that far is mouth-watering. That would certainly cement our place as a top European side.

But then again, i would love to say i saw Celtic win a European trophy. And we could play in the Super Cup then as well (another European final).

Both have their good points. I think if we do either no one will be complaining will they?

i'd be embarressed to be in the uefa cup tbh, i'd take last 8 or even 16 of the CL every time. it helps our players improve by playing against better players and financially can be more beneficial

Last 8 anyday bigger competition than the uefa cup, much better money and imo i think every team in europe would rather play last 8 than the uefa cup.

Definately last 16/8. the uefa cup cost rangers dar last year and even if we finished 3rd we would have 9 games more to win it and its a run with decent teams this year, fuck all prize money and it brings you up to May.

if we were to bow out in the last 16/ quater finals our european campaign would be over but would have been a success financially and on the pitch. it will also give us from March to concentrate solely on the League as that is the most important competition.

A european trophy is much beter than the last 16 and i told my rangers suporter mates this last year to, the eufa cup is a hard cup to win there are always hard teams in it, infact some of these teams should be in the cl.

a shite cup is better than mixing it up with the biggest boys in europe?? no way! no one gives a shit about the uefa cup winners, but when it gets down to the last few matches in the CL its something else! plus we may get passed the last 16 and last 8... i would get the uefa cup tae fuck for a shot at getting to those semi finals of the CL!

Financially its not. The extra income doesnt come from prizemoneys, its money soaked out of fans from the 8 extra matches. The players fatigue more and it does cost them domestically. UEFA Cup is a chump trophy compared to the UCL.

I would rather be in the UCL last 16 because we'd be in a better position to win the league as proven last season. Who's in the UCL now because of it and who's not?

Its a monumental achievment for clubs like us to get through given the teams in the top tournament.

I had a blast in Seville dont get me wrong and loved every minute of that brilliant run, but the UEFA Cup is a shadow of what it was back then due to the expansion of the CL.

Definately. Its not funny how bad the competition has become because of changes made so the UCL gets more money

I think they'll have to look at it long term.

You just have to look at the teams that are contesting the latter stages to see its fall from grace, and thats not just to poke fun at the huns (well .. maybe a bit! ).
