fans behind WGS and finally pointing fingers at the board
I think the fans seem to now be more behind WGS than at any point prevously. I also think the fans, rightly, are now pointing the finger at the board rather than the manager when it comes to disappointment over signings. We dont know what budget WGS was given for fees and wages but it clearly wasnt enough to capture our 1st, 2nd maybe even 3rd choice targets for various positions. Thoughs??

as much as i'd love to have seen us splash the cash i think the board know exactly what they're doing. our summer targets haven't worked out so we're not panic buying, if things need changed in january we'll have the money to do so.
i'd say i'm right behind the board and WGS even though his transfer targets dont fill me full of confidence at times, 3 in a row though.......

Good points, but i think its also to do with more understanding of how we are run, as in strachan sets a list and tells lawell to get them sort of thing.

Hence a lot of cheeapish gambles. Hoped it would change this summer with a couple of years profit but nah

I like what he has acheived here and what he could acheive, my only problem is, i dont think he is very brave at time's he need's to be, with subs and even starters being a starting point, i often read things said by player's and it's mostly all positive, ie McGeady saying he has become a more complete player under him... wich to an outsider might seem golden straw-ish but for me as a fan i have seen what he has added to his game since the mon era, with defence being the most impressive. Overall i do and alway have thought he was a good appointment by the board, as for the board well i dont know but i'm sure they know what there doing, and i espesially like the bussiness they did with crosas, it's a system that could bennifit many team's and i hope it's the start of a good relationship with the like's of barca and man u ect in term's of similar deal's in the future.
so 10/10 wgs and a fair 8/10 for the coffers

100% behind the board and WGS.
Financially we are in a very strong position. No point putting that in peril over a few signings which may or may not work out.
Ask Leeds Utd. about extravegance - look where they have ended up.

personally I think WGS has done amazing to assemble the current squad with limited resource through modest purchases and coaching youth. IMO duds just come with the territory when you are paying 1-3 million quid and offering modest wages for most of your players when thats utter peanuts in England. It looks like the board have never sanctioned more than a few million net spend (spending minus sales) in any of WGS's years. Talk of spending 10, 12, 15 or 20 million outright in a ckise season has proved to be fantasy.
Despite that, I believe this is the year it will all click and we will see WGS's vision which we have only seen in glimpses until now. One proviso-we dont have serious injuries to key players.

100% agree with everything u have sed but not with the bravery. prime example (caldwell-balde situation) 98% of fans sed caldwell wasnt good enough(still probably isnt) but he stuck by him when fans wer crying out for balde and look what happend, he was 1 of if not our best player the last 6 months.

yep i agree i was also one of the caldwell haters lol but i admit 110% i was wrong and wgs was spot on...it seems a few more kinks need sorted before there a real solid partnership for example i know wgs keeps on at him to just hoof it away if unsure rather than his normal instinct wich when he first signed was to play it out... past 5-6 games though he has did the hoofin first and i gotta say im well impressed with his progress.
I remember when wgs first appeared public and he said he was aiming to build the fastest attacking team in scotland, does anyone think this is now becoming the case or do ya think he's changed tac? personally i think he know's exactly what he wants from his players and it's all starting to make sense now, esp when you consider the team where really young when first assembled (and actually still are)
Guess my closing comment would be this... this season we will see exactly what he has been working toward's the past few year's and we have yet to see the finished product, and that is why i think he stayed on, because he hasnt finished with his legacey just yet, or you could phrase it this way.... he hasnt fullfilled his philosiphy yet.
(SRY for typos/general noobish spelling ect) my girlfriend got me some prescribeb pain killers from her work and they have knocked me for 6 lmao.

Seems Celtic will never change.
20 years on and still we have a board who refuse to strengthen our theam while we'r on top.
there has been a shocking lack of ambition shown by them this summer and they are ripping the fans off, charging shocking prices for season tickets to watch same guff as last year. they seem to have an attitude of well we'r better than rangers so that'l do. Celtic should never opperate on a policy of doing enough to get by. Lets not forget if it wasnt for a good last 7 games we'd have won fuck all the huns we're coasting to the title and collapsed, well they're a far better side now and we'v not improved. look at our signings;
McCourt - pub league player
Samaras - nothing new he was here for 6 months
Loovens - wont play, stachan has already confessed his undying love for Caldwell and he's made McManus his captain so he's fucked there
Crosas - wont play cause Strachan continues to pick sub standard midfielders - our best 2 will be on bench on sunday
Maloney - the one and only good signing made all summer.
the fact that we havn't signed a LB fucking disgusts me and dont anyone kid themselves on that the board have been trying they'v done fuck all.
Liewell will come out with same pish on tuesday morning that we tried to get Henrik he peddles this shite every year.
I dont give a fuck about bank balances i support a FOOTBALL team not a stock market company.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH CELTIC
