I think the lad just wanted to come home and get on with it, with a wage cut and everything else. Just like any young kid that gets an offer from the EPL or Martin O'Neill he went for it and tried his best. He did get a few goals for Villa I remember.

he has been big enough to admit leaving celtic was a huge mistake

so if he can recapture the form he had before he went then he will be a good addition to our squad

he s big enough to admit he cant get a game for villa and is home sick so we pay out to keep him happy he wasnt even a first team regular when he was here and will be lucky to get 30 minutes each game until naka or mc geady get injured

Yes it was very good to read the direct quotes from Maloney on the Celtic web site as well as elsewhere that he understands he made the wrong decision and is happy to be back home so to speak. Bottom line is Maloney is back, he admits he fucked up and if he can recapture the form he was showing in his last season at Celtic then we are a much better team with him in it and I welcome and am delighted to see him back.

he s been at villa 18 months hardly played for them and we pay an extra 1.5 mill to get him back not because he wants back but because he is home sick and cant get a game that makes me sick i work hard to buy my season and merchandise from the club

There is very few players that would pass up the opportunity to play in the Premiership at his age. Plus the fact it was O'Neill, the guy that gave him a chance, O'Neill believed in him, and signed up. Broke his dreams by not playing him. The guy's not bad, but to the prick that said he'd Boo him, go off and support Rangers. All your god damn good for.
