i want him back, but you do make good points.
but maloney has something about him, none of those players you mentioned have.
the ability to beat men on the run and then score from 30-25 yards.
Caddis is emerging as a great talent though so we may not even need maloney as a backup.

He actually really wanted to play for Celtic including taking relatively low wages to get his chance.
If Maloney was willing to apologize to Celtic and take a pay cut to play here then I think he would be welcomed back.
Honestly in 2-3 years we might be better off with Caddis, Mizuno, or McCourt anyway. I think all 3 will develop to be very good and we will have problems picking 1 to start.

Love him or loathe him, Maloney is a good player, and you can't have enough good players in your team. What happens when McGeady moves on. Try replacing him! Maloney could step right in.

That's my oponion on what he did to the club, dragged his heels and spat the dummy about getting a new contract then jumped ship for a few bob more to Villa.
Don't want him back now or ever,it would be an injustice for Celtic to even consider re-signing him for 2-3 times more than what he was sold on for.

It wouldnt look good on Celtic's part if a player fcked off because he thought he was too good for them only for him to be welcomed back when he found out he wasnt. It wouldnt happen with any other big European club,
