Sorry for the pessimissim and hope I am wrong, but in all my time watching football the only player to return to a team and be better than before was Bertie Auld.long, long time ago,
Any others I have seen never seemed to give as much as they had in the past.
A talented boy lets hope he can do it for us again.

Guess you havent seen juan roman riquelme playing for Boca Juniors, which is his 2nd stint.
Would be great to see Maloney return, great wee player we need more skilled players in the team but WGS needs to allow them all to express themselves.
I would get him in without a doubt. was fanatastic the season before he decided to join Villa. I would then deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation
2 mids from Brown, Robson, Hartley and then see how Crosas come on.
Naka, Malloney, McGeady then JVH up front on his lonesome.
Maloney supporting as 2nd striker.
If this happens our play would definetly change for the better!

I hope he comes. I think he will too.

I also think from the way the manager and PL have spoken they are still looking 2 or 3 more players before the window shuts

All these damn midfielders, what's Strachan planning? a 2-7-1 formation? Ever considered looking at our problem areas Gordon before adding to your collection of midfielders?

What a stupid comment this is. So from the performance yesterday you would say that we don need a creative midfielder who can also play behind the striker.

So what positions is it we need to fix then?

We need a LB and RB and Maloney at a million is worth bringing back.

I think the guy has a fair point. Since WGS took over defense has been an area left behind in relation to other areas. He really seems content to play people out of position and those less experienced in defensive positions and concentrate money on the midfield.

Brown cost us a packet, did we really really need him? I just cannot work out what he is thinking half the time as I said in my other post. Why the hell can he not just accept the defense needs as much attention as other areas, and I am not talking about twice daily training sessions as was once claimed he carried out.

Bottom line is we need some top quality players brought in to play one position (not two) that will add depth and provide cover.

And how has the defence been left behind?

Im not sure I understand this. If you check WGS signings I bet there is a fair few defenders in it.

I will try and compile a list anyone who wants to add can.

Caldwell
Camara
Virgo
Doumbe
Naylor
Loovens
Telfer
Hinkel

That added too

Wilson
O'Dea
Kennedy
McManus
Balde
Caddis
So how is it that he has left the defence behind? The reason we sign more players in midfield and up front is the fact that once you get a steady backline it will very rarely change.
