CELTIC will play host to Manchester City in the opening home friendly of the new season, with the reigning league champions facing The Blues on Wednesday, August 6, 2008.
While serving as a valuable warm-up for Gordon Strachan’s men after the Feyenoord Jubilee Tournament in Rotterdam, the game will also provide new City manager Mark Hughes with the chance to test his squad and blood any new arrivals.
The Premiership side have been linked with a number of big names in recent weeks but will travel to Celtic Park with a team already bristling with talented players, including Brazilian Jo, Mexican Nery Castillo, midfielder Martin Petrov, strikers Benjani and Bernardo Corradi and Irish internationalists Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland.
The game kicks off at 7.45pm on Wednesday, August 6 and is included on your season ticket. Entry for non-season ticket holders is £20 and £10 for concessions.

£20 for non-season ticket holders to watch what'll be nothing more than a kick about that we'll probably lose? Fuck that.

I know! I figure the club would actually get more money if they lowered their prices and allowed more supporters to attend. Would also help the atmosphere some.

Ah come on man, it's fuckin quality. Just learn the basic rules and you'll find you'd much rather be watching Sydney Swans vs West Coast Eagles instead of Everton vs Hull.

Don't let the names put you off. Think of the sport as a hybrid of Gaelic Football, Rugby, and Gridiron (without the protective gear). These lads are hard bastards, not like some of those fannies playing football in Europe who fall to the floor if the wind changes direction. Carry on like that in AFL and you'll find yourself on the receiving end of a proper hiding.
I've written many quality songs man, fire away
