Are you serious?
He was a hero at rochdale. they knocked back a bid of 1.5 million from man city ffs
he got injured and loss form for a bit after that.. thats why he went back.

yes i'm serious. he did well at rochdale for a while then came home with his tail between his legs like a lot of irish players. of course things may have been different if he didn't get injured but he did and he's crap, i've been to matches and seen him play and he doesn't even stand out in the irish league

i'll be cheering him on like i do with every player that wears the hoops and i'll be a very happy man if he proves me wrong but i hoped this summer we'd be signing a higher standard of player mate. really dissapointed we signed him, hoped we'd sign players that are gonna help us compete in the CL

I think we who haven't seen him will have to wait until we see him in a Celtic jersey before making a true judgement.
There has been a lot of hype, both on here, and in the media from certain quarters, and some of it has been ott if we're honest.
There have been some great reports from folk on the forum who have seen him in the flesh, and recently by Clagan, poor reports. (welcome back btw)
Everyone has their own views, but anyone who has not seen him play yet will, I'm sure, be able to give first hand views shortly.
What is certain, he will be welcomed and given every opportunity, if he's good enough, to make a mark on the team.

cheers paul
i go to some irish league games, the standard is atrocious btw, and any half decent player should stick out like a sore thumb and mc court doesn't.
as i said earlier i hope he proves me wrong but imagine we're 1-0 down against barca or milan in the CL this year does anyone expect mc court to come on and score? we need quality players that are gonna help us get into the last 8 of the CL. we should be setting our standards a little bit higher IMAO

Derry is in the League of Ireland not the Irish League, of course he's not going to stick out, he's not there
By the way, he's a winger like Aiden, not a goal scorer so I don't know where you're going with that example. But if we are to go down those lines did we expect last year that Scott McDonald would be scoring against AC Milan or Barry Robson against Barcelona? All players we thought might have been on the fringe showing us what they can do, give him a chance.

Jesus give the poor guy a chance, he is hardly going to be our blue chip signing of the summer now is he? P.S he plays in The Eircom Premier League not the part-time 'Irish League'.
Welcome aboard Shongo (Big Norm??)

i said irish league referring to fitba north and south not the irish/eircom league and i'm well aware what league derry play in as i go to some of their games when i'm in derry seeing friends.
i know he's a winger but they can score goals too not just the strikers, the point i was making is will he make a difference in big games? doubt it.
as for skippy he had proved himself at a higher level than mc court, especially against us. he is a natural finisher and he showed that at motherwell so i did expect him to do well here, i admit i had reservations about robson and loved being proved wrong and as i said i'll be happy if mc court proves me wrong but i haven't seen as much potential in him as i did in skippy or robson

i was referring to irish league football in general mate not just the northern league.
as i said in my other posts i'll back the guy as much as any other player when i'm at matches and i'll be over the moon if he proves me wrong but i'd like to see a better standard of player signing for us. i go to the brandywell now and again and this guy has never impressed me
