this english transfer market talk is utter utter pish. of course these players should be costing ENGLISH clubs the right amount of money, and we are talking leroy lita and marlon king, 6 million pound strikers from the championship. if its dealings between two spl teams then of course the prices will be lower but these english teams need to pay us top dollar for our players just like everyone else, after all we are a champions league club. as far as i am concerned a player has a valuation and its the top bidder that gets him, you cant say mcgeady is worth that little, and dont start with this english transfer mumbo jumbo.

A lot of ridiculous over-valuation going on here! Up until last year I wouldnt have thought any spl player would go for over £5 million.

Now we have some mid table EPL clubs paying silly money and all of sudden all our top players are worth £10-20 million.

Imo, mcgeady would go to the EPL and be playing similar to Petrov and Maloney. Ok, but not exactly setting the league alight.

Now I believe Boruc could be worth at least £20 million. I even think we might get that for him.

AC Milan, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Man Utd all have ageing keepers. £20 million for a proven international goalkeeper, who is only 28 will be seen as a good investment. Lawell will know this and will probably hold out for it.

well done you this time. not slasgging me off, but actually putting your point across.

i still rate McGeady at £9m unless a Chelsea or a Man Utd come sniffing about him. about King, you won't find a player in a non top flight league go for anywhere near £6m in any other country other than England.

I would value him at around £12 million. But if 2 or more of the top clubs target him, they wouldnt think twice about paying over the odds for their target.

If alex ferguson says he wants a player, they will outbid any offer no matter what.

Although I was just looking at the most expensive keepers there and other than Buffon they are all £10 million max. So its very rarely any team ever pays over the odds for a keeper.

I don't know what McGeady would be worth to any other team (around 14 million I'd imagine), but to us he is simply priceless.

Who else have we got who on the counter can carry the ball the length of the pitch at pace? Against Hibs alone both Naka and Venegoor had clear runs at the keeper / outnumbered defence but they are sooooo slow. We can't afford to lose that kind of pace not even for oft quoted £16 million.
