Good luck to him. Signed during an injury crisis and did a decent job for us.
He made an easy target for some, but I don't remember him making any big mistakes.

That wasn't a mistake. It got him the biggest move of his career, one last big pay day and a league winners medal.
It was the best thing he's ever done.

Wish him all the best, he did a job for us and I've never heard him bleating about not getting a game all the time. I think he is what's termed "a good pro"

Got to be up there with some of WGS's most pointless signings.

wasn't too pointless when we were winning the league. he was signed when we needed cover at CB and did his job well when called upon

Yeh decent enough player, just think if we were gonna strengthen the back 4 at that time it had to be someone top class, and dont think Elvis was any better than Bobo, Mick, O'Dea or even Caldwell, so was never likely to feature too much long term, yet we gave him an 18 month contract.
Think a deal until the end of last season might have bn a better move.

i'd agree with that. was never one for the future so why did we give him such a long deal

We did sign him on a short deal then took him up on the option of another year?
Either way i condoned his singing and with hindsight still think it was the right decision. Natural leader in the dressing room as well which was required considering Lenny, Dublin, Telfer, Keane, Petrov all had left.

Maybe Pressley wouldnt have been interested in that sort of move. I dont think he's been any sort of financial strain on the club anyways

Admittedly he probably didnt break the bank but still seemed like a long contract for a 34 year brought in only as cover
