To say someone is Anti-Strachen implies they have a personal dislike of the man. The very nature of the word Anti when used throughout history has implied hatred and to me the term is not relevant at all when most people question his ability as manager. Some people may have a genuine personal hatred for the man but IMO that section of the support is so small it is almost invisible and deserves not to be highlighted.
There is nothing wrong at all with being critical of anyone if they are quite clearly making mistakes. As it is right to be positive when it becomes clear they are making the correct decisions. In WGS´s case he has made many baffling decisions and has quite rightly been criticised for them. However it in recent weeks it seems he is finally making some correct decisions and that is evident from what we have been seeing out on the pitch.
Anyway as I said earlier the word Anti implies a personal dis-like or even a hatred and because of this. IMO it has no relevance to label fair minded Celtic fans as Anti WGS. I personally am not Anti anyone except the Huns.

I had my doubt over Strachan a month ago and I seriously thought it was time we got someone else in...actually in some way I still think Strachan should go. Don't want him to sign another Donati or Hinkel in the summer. We already have enough donkeys here

I kinda want him to stay and i kinda dont.
Just we are back on track, it still isnt in our own hands to win the SPL. we should of been front all year due to last 2 years.
also i dont know what he will be like in the summer which is also worrying me, will he buy more duds or has he learned??

Ellboy I know the word isn't great but it is a quick way to distinguish between the 2 sets of supporters without reverting to expletives ;)
Also good to see you're giving him a little bit of credit!

I go on cold hard facts. WGS is still on for winning the most leagues in a row since BJ. He has taken us further in Europe twice than anybody else since BJ.
The determination by some on here that he should fail is bewildering, because if he fails, Celtic fails. A club should only get rid of a manager during the summer, judged on an entire season.

We have gone further than the last 16. I personally attended a quarter final v Real Madrid at CP in 1980.

Fair enough, i was suckling my mother's breast at that time. (I'm 63 ). I think getting to the last 16 now is more of an achievement than getting to the last 8 in 1980. How many games had they played to get there? Home and away i'd say 6 against ropey opposition.

You're probably right. It is a tougher tournament today. I think it was 6 games.

I know what you mean it is easier to put a label on it a better word could be used though, perhaps “Sceptics”.
I will always give someone credit when they deserve it supermike likewise I will be critical when they deserve to be criticized.
I think that is quite fair.

I'm just speculating here but it wasn't until the last 16/8 that the games got serious? Unless you were playing the KGB backed Russian teams...

iit would be a disgrace NOT to air ones opnion m8,,and uve answerd your own question "the unquestioned mon" whaere as there have been a lot of questions about strachan
questions like why from a position of dominince total dominice have we fell behind a shit rangers team,,or why in under 3 years have our team been turned in to at best a medicore team? ect ect ect,,if i had time i could write many more ,i,e like a faltering 12 pt winning margin last year to being overtaken by the orcs ,,this is very hard to take for a lot of us "DISGRACEFUL " fans,,,,dont u want to know why this has happend?
and as for the wgs haters wanting to lose the leauge,,,,u dont really think that do u?
if u do then ure the disgrace
|
This arguement has been done to death and I think we are all fed up with it now so I'll simply say that I disagree with the points that you make.
However I will say that there clearly are some fans who would rather that we lost the league and Strachan left than we won the league and he stayed. A lot of people I know feel that way.

I don't feel a fanny at all, my opinion is still exactly the same. My opinion on this side coalesced over three years it isnae gonna shift cause we scrape a couple of wins. I said it before, we won the first two titles by default and if we win this year it'll be because Rangers collapse, which it's beginning to look like they will. I've also said this team has two strengths which have served us well - a sound defense, largely due to Boruc and the spirit required to fight till the end. We're showing this in the title race as we have done in so many big matches. Strachan deserves credit for that, although allot of it is transmitted by the demands of the crowd.
However, Rangers handing us the title three years in a row won't make us a good side and whether we win the league or not I want Strachan out the door and I want someone brought in that can deliver entertaining progressive football that's gonna inspire the crowd and get arses back on seats.
