Is The Old Firm Game The Same
Atmosphere wise ,does anybody think the atmosphere has changed as in the volume and the fact that both set of supporters are not aloud to sing certain songs .Has this changed the magic of the old firm derby

I don't like the term 'Old Firm'.We are Celtic, they are Rangers.I call it the Huns match or Rangers match.

Ii think we will see it ignight again this year with walter and ally back it brings somthing new to beating them since walter fucked us for years its pay back time im glad they brought them to back gives us the chance
And boruc has opend new rivalry with them wich was lost with the departure of lennon and is comment "i hate rangers they are the enemy" i stand by this statement no biggotry about it just a fact they are our rivals same thing its a new breed of hate and its about time those dinosaurs wont see it that way though

For me personaly. i wouldnt want them to win a game of tidily winks. But it has definatly lost its edge their are many reasons for this. However for me the games have been somewhat over shadowed by CPL nights. Also their hasnt been a real decider of a game in years.
Maybe this year will be diferent. I can feel something diferent in the air already.

tbh I hated the Old firm games because of the venom and violence in the past. Running battles outside the stadium, the train getting ambushed at Carntyne with bricks and stones after we had got on at Bellgrove and the train full of woman and children from a saturday shop, fighting the huns in Airdrie when out and about drinking and celebrating. It has got a lot better now and the violence is not as bad as it used to be. Glad to see the shit songs have lessened too. My closest shave was when the cops decided to charge through us on horseback in Janefield St and if a wall hadn't collapsed we were dead meat. I ended up in court as a witness against the police for a lass who got injured, still remember her name I think it was Michelle Ward.
I was at the hampden riot too. So good riddance to the so called good old days.

Yeah it's a health hazard being a tim in Airdrie as well. I nearly got crushed in a game v Nottingham Forrest down there, if a cop hadn't opened the fence we were looking at a Hillsborough type incident. Lots of stories re the huns too. My pals call me lucky

The atmosphere is just as good imo, the days of the public showing of sectarianism are for the blue side to continue. We are a modern, progressive European outfit they are still the arch enemy just minus the bile that marred the tie in previous years.

sectarianism is what made that match so great and i dont care wot anyone says chantin aiden mcanespie and boys of the old brigade, soldiers song at the rangers shoulder to shoulder with your father and your brother and all your fellow fans makes the hairs on your neck stand up.....no one is truly advacating terrorism and all that its just a drama for the match, 90 minutes of madness they have taken the heart and the real grit and passion out of the derby....it makes it a sweeter win when we hate them mor when they sing songs like sash and them ones, its what gives the derby the atmosphere. thats gone now.

To be honest, I hate Old Firm games. I have to watch them obviously, but it's stereo hatred for 90 minutes. Too nerve-wracking anaw!
