especially when he even admits on his home page that he wanted to play for scotland but because of the fact he never pld as a scottish school boy he was ineligible as he was at celtic. its scotlands own fault with there silly rules he is an ireland player.

And now the Celtic player has reached - and eased into - that stage.

I think that has been his the key to his season. Hail Hail!

I agree. I was in danger of becoming a bitter bastard (sorry folks ) over the disapointment of that but the long debate has been worth it for me as I am now convinced he is a good bloke who did it for family reasons. I even enjoyed seeing him playing v Brazil for Ireland so am over it. All the best in your international career wee man

I've been telling any bassa that will listen that McGeady is at a similar stage of development as Ronaldo was 18 months ago.
Following this performance, you have got to concede that he is on the verge of cementing himself as a WORLD CLASS player. If he were English, or even played in the EPL there would be fanfare galore!
Even the 'oul fool Whelen displayed the Sky Sports Anglocentric mood of lazy punditry as he clearly shone against Brazil, despite the cliched ramblings from the commentry box. I guess there wasn't much about McGeady that week on BBC teletext, so how was he to know...
Let's consider what he has now, since he has taken the step to accelerate his development from sand dancer to almost complete winger.
Pace, power, shooting, crossing, stamina, work ethic..along with his precocious talent that cannot be gained by any amount of hours on the weights or treadmill.
I seriously can't see him flagging now he has these things as his own. He has the chance to be a true Celtic great.. the best since Jinky.... or better.
Hail, Hail!

I've being trumpeting the same thing too. As long as he believes that he can better himself, he will.

McGeady is in the SPL and Ronaldo is in the EPL.
We were comparing stages of development, Ronaldo, before last season, was taking flak from his own fans for no end product etc etc. McGeady has been getting that for the last year and now he's producing end product more often than not. Not as good as Ronaldo but no reason why he can't be if he continues to apply himself like he has been.
