Stephen Crainey was not a cokehead for anyone suggesting he was
I played with both him and Charlie Mulgrew at school and i was at the funeral of a mutual friend on New Years Eve with him, he's doing well at Blackpool. Charlie was another 1 but Strachans pre-season rant at him and Ross Wallace put the nail in the coffin for they 2.

mark burchill.... likewise.
steven crainey.... was a disappointment as was barry smith & brian o'neil.
in the 90's when andy peyton arrived he had an electrifying debut and then it all fizzled out... family problems forced him back to england
big shame... he looked like a young charlie nich... but with pace.
and ronnie coyle and davie moyes would have been a solid defensive pair at another club... aitken and macadam kept them out.
and the biggest let down for me was liam brady beig a dud manager.... i really thought he'd take us to the promised land of euro glory.

John Halpin was a decent player, played at the time McStay first broke through, fast and great crosser. Never progressed as people thought.
Danny "Puffer" Crainie was the same. Saw him score a brilliant hat-trick at Firhill. Didn't get too many opportunities, but when he did he scored his share of goals.

Whatever happened to wee Brian McLaughlin?
He was a 'good' wee player but never going to be a superstar ... seemed to just disappear after Celtic.

this is the classic scenario of players, the great potential gets to their head, they eventually move down south to some newly promoted premiership strugglers who inevitably get relegated and the player is never heard of again, does anyone know we had brad friedal on trial but liam brady the manager at the time thought he wasn't good enough

Aye but to be fair to Brady..Friedel has improved as he has gotten older..
He was pretty stinking at Liverpool..Great at Blackburn though

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, Advocaat released a World and European cup winner, arguably the best midfielder of his type, as he couldn't accomodate him with bawheid Ferguson.
