As already said, its a to bigger game to be postponed it should go ahead with a minute of clapping and with the players wearing tribute armbands, the games that have been postponed already is the right choice.

Both Celtic and Rangers discussed postponing the game and it has been decided to go ahead.

I've seen many decent posts from Rangers supporters on other forums calling for it to be called off as there is a genuine lack of appetite for football at present.

The sense of shock is just unbelievable as we all know.

In terms of the logistics of calling it off at this stage I have no idea but I am surprised that it was not cancelled.

Both Celtic and Rangers players must be as 'numb' as the Motherwell players and staff. After all, Phil was one of our own in terms of the footballing fraternity - irrespective of which club you support.

In all honesty, I don't know what the correct decision is but we shall just give him a massive send off in our own Celtic way.

It is up to Rangers supporters how they conduct themselves - I couldn't care less how they behave - as long as we conduct ourselves in our usual manner as Celtic supporters.

And we will - as always. It is at times like this when being a part of the famous Glasgow Celtic support gives me such an overwhelming sense of pride that I could almost cry.

God Bless Phil. May he Rest in Peace.

God Bless his wife and young family.

Celtic have asked for the Old Firm match on Wednesday to be postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Motherwell captain Phil O'Donnell.
O'Donnell collapsed and died during Saturday's match against Dundee United at Fir Park. The Scottish Premier League is considering Celtic's request to have the game at Celtic Park postponed.

We are all disappointed the game isnt going ahead, but a young man has lost his life in tragic circumstances.Surely thats more important than fulfilling a fixture, admittedly a vital one.Phil was a Celt,we should be thinking about him and his family at this time.

I am glad to see common sense provail. Their are far to many people at Celtic rhat have close ties to Phil OŽDonnell and his family. Tommy Burns brought him to celtic and Scott Macdonald played in the same team as him at motherwell. These guys and others at the club will feel his loss hard and in all honesty how could they think about preparing to play football match so soon after this tragic event. and out of respect to Phil his family and freinds this could be the only decision. Its only a game of football after all.

also can i just say folk talking about ye postpone the game, mcgeady will serve his suspension in another game and we'll get the signings in. shame on you you fucking scumbags!
I can't believe you just wrote that.
The game has now been cancelled, Mcgeady will now play, and the new signings probably will be available, fellow fans realising and discussing this are not dis-honouring Phil O'donnell's memory.
I will definitelly attend his benefit match, hopefully at parkhead, to both pay my respects and honour his memory.
Will You, or are you just looking for an argument at a very inappropriatte time.
