the sunday news papers headlines"phil odonnell"
i am just back from the localpetrol station and the tomorrows news papers are laid out in a row,the 2 major news papers the headlines are n.o.t.w binge drinking causws most deaths,and the sunday mail headline is ,soccer player in drink binge
taking in to account the phil o"donnell news happend at 4.45 to 5.00 pm
its just goes to show how the news papers know fuk all and getting the paper to the shop first is more important than the news
unbeliveable that phil never got a mention in the papers tonight
shame on them
match of the day has just made an announcement about phil ,well done

No offense mate - but it takes more than a few hours to get the paper's to your petrol station....

i broke the story about the cop being shot in shettleson a few years back ,i was passing by when it happend ,it happend at 3am i got through to the daily record about 3-30am and by 5 30am it was a exclusive in the record., so that excuse is blown out the water
p,s i got 200 pounds for that story

believe me, he'll be in the front of the normal edition.
do you know how long it takes to produce the papers? take into consideration that these first editions are realised at 10 at night.

i know it will but these big stories can get to the shops with in 2 hours its been at least 6 since it happend

i doubt that.
it takes more than two hours to run the amount they print on the press.
70k an hour the press's run at, now throw in packing, delivering and Pre-press. i.e. making the plates, page assembilation etc etc. not to mention the reporter typing the stroies out.

I've worked for two big local newspapers and they have deadlines, after which any newstory, no matter how big simply wont get in. Wouldn't real too much into that to be honest
