he always works hard for the team - ok he went through a bad patch but still trcked back and tackled, still tried to flick it on and score. he is now back to his best and some of his headers are the best iv seen for a while, whether its just changing the direction slightly with a glance or powering it into the net. part of his problem was service. if he recieves no decent service what can he do? long staright balls from defence arent service. no striker can deal well with those balls because of the trajectory. since we have started crossing again however his play has improved as have his flick ons from longer passes. skippy has profited from these many a time.
vennegoor of hesselink is poised to score twenty goals this season. that is the only goal a striker can realistically attain for himself. his partenership with skippy is one of the best i have seen at celtic for a while. if one isnt scoring the other is. the only thing i would criticise is his scoring rate in the "big games". ever since the man u game last season (when he scored a peach) he has been a let down considering his european pedigree.
as for "foreign merceneries" are not lubo, henke, boruc and naka part of this category?

doesn't do enough for me tits, for a guy who will at best score the minimum requirement for a Celtic striker, he has to have alot more to his game.
If Kenny Miller could have produced 20 goals a season i'd be delighted to still have him because he has alot more to his game than goals.

No, great players and work their socks off for the jersey.
As for your other points, you are entitled to your opinion. For me skippy looked a much better player when Jan was injured. I don't think its a great partnership by any means.

I don't know why you made that statement maggie, i certainly never said it.
However i've not seen enough of Killen to have such an opinion, but he had a good strike rate at hibs i think. And from the little i've seen, although immobile like Jan, he has a good first touch knocks the ball down well for skippy and links the play with midfeild like majic. I'd like to see more of him partnered with skippy before i make a proper judgement.
