Celtic v Gretna

I didnt see a thread on this and with the match tomorrow i tought id start one.

With boruc looking like he could be back it could breed confidence throughout the team although i wouldnt want WGS to risk him if he wasnt totally confident about his fitness, tbh would rather he was 100% fit for the OF.And now we have bobo back,id definetly start him alongside mick,as im not fans of pressely and caldwell. Looks like we're getting important players back in time so ill go for 3-0 skippy x2, riordan.....if he gets off the bench.

and id go for this line up

.................boruc.................
naylor......balde....mcmanus......caldwell
mcgeady.....brown.....hartley.....jarosik
..........mcdonald.......JVOH

brown
pressely
sheridan
riordan
conroy
donati
zurawski

would agree with the line up. Its our strongest available 11. Wouldnt play Deeks as we need to protect him because he is the only cover we have for Aidan.

I'm hoping for a continuation from the form that saw off Dundee Utd.

However, too often it never happens but if it does then we could give Gretna a serious thumping which would be a lift for the whole squad and fans alike.

Skippy looks tired and McGeady is showing signs of becoming weary as well.

Bring back the 'Winter Break.'

I'd also go with our strongest 11.
Hopefully we will get an early goal or two and have the game wrapped up by half time..

If that goes to plan then I'd like to see changes made so we play the second half with the 11 guys on the pitch that Strachan plans to start with against the huns.. That would mean Mcgeady going off , Brown maybe switching to right midfield.. I'd also like to see Jarosik (because he's mostly left footed) tried in the middle next to Hartley at some point against Gretna , because often out on the left he just looks like he has nowhere to go with the ball.. (Playing central would give options left and right) Failing that just go with the tried and tested Donati and Hartley in the middle , with Riordan getting the left midfield role (at least to see if he offers something different from Jarosik)..

I think most of us will be happy if Sno sits out the next couple of games.

Agree with most on this thread. Lets get the game over as quickly as possible. Then take Aiden and skippy of and give them a rest.

Just a bit worried that Boruc might be rushed a game early as it is imperative hes fit for the Huns. WGS has got a record for overplaying guys when not fit. ie. pre season at Newcastlle. Boruc was clearly injured but WGS left him on he should have protected him a bit more and hauled him of.He did a similar thing with Naka earlier in the season when it was obvious he needed a rest on a number of ocasions when the game was finished he wouldnt sub him.I think this may have contributed to an injury. Hope when the game is finished against gretna he hooks our important players and doesnt run them into the ground.

Wouldnt play Boruc, we need him for OF and would be heartbreaking if he got injured during this game

Agree'd tim park. i think a full game before the huns is perfect. am glad he's fit 1 game before the huns. maybe half a game if hes not 100%
but its defo a good idea to give him practice before the hun game

I think were all looking for a really good performance and a few goals tomorrow. If it happens then thats the bad run firmly behind us and we can concentrate on wee Strachan getting his first win over Smith. 2 must win games in close succession, oh and mon the hibees.

As long as big bobo retains his place am not too fussed what our line up is. The whole team got a lift from his presence on wed so if he gets another game that psychological boost will still be there and will be reinforced going into the huns game if we manage to keep a clean sheet.

yip it looked that way,i was suprised how relaxed he looked ,the bhoy dun good

also mcgeady and scott brown in the second half i though were amazing the best yet,the 2 of them alone looked fantastic

ive watched the highlights a few times and mcgeady looks faster and more in controll of the ball than ever,
a massive loss to us come the huns match,

If McGeady & Skippy hit top form i can see us winning 5-0, but i'll go for 4-0.

Scorers: Skippy, Skoosh (Due a goal) JVOH, Jarosik
