A man i know, i call him the guru coz there's nothing he doesn't know about music, has raved to me about Tom Waits for months now and has given me one of his compilations to put on my pc. As yet av not had the chance to sit down with it but i will.
And as soon as am finished watching the dark knight i'll come back here and listen to the vids you've put up clagan. I trust these 3 are good introduction songs :50:

Rosario gave me a tip off a while back about this guy and I ended up downloading a few albums. Swordfish Trombone, Shadows of Intolerance, Rain Dogs and my favourite 'Nighthawks at the diner', an intimate album with only a small audience, he cracks a few good jokes and it's not as weird as his studio stuff. Great artist.

I was thinking of a totally different artist when I seen this thread and thought you all went soft :52: turns out the guy I was thinking of was John Waites :56:

Came across this interview with Tom while I was downloading his new album, he's a very funny & intelligent guy.

He used to be a bodybuilder. Oh no, that was Tom Weights. My mistake.

Love this song. He lists Auld Lang Syne as one of his influences, it shows in this track I think.

Tom Waits is a musical genius simple as that.
I'd love to see him live.
