After watching Frankel storm to victory in the 2000 guineas it's no surprise that he is favourite for the Derby.
What is surprising is that you are still getting 5/2, I'll be having some of that after what I witnesed today.

As i stated on the other thread mate i think he could go unbeaten but the Derby is a completely different ball game,
For a start it's over 1m 4f which it hasn't done before and at Epsom thats a really tough place to start doing that...i happen to think a mile's his best...also it was intersting to hear the jockey saying that he doesn't think it should run in the Derby...hmmm ?
But this Frankel is a really special horse and at 5/2 is certainly worth some serious cash imho !
The Derby will tell just how special this horse is.:shamrock:

He will be special regardless of how he does in the Derby. That was an exceptional performance and if he is retired tomorrow he will be remembered for it.
The price not only reflects his possible not staying the trip, but also Henry's statement after it to not back him yet...as he may not go for it.
For what its worth....i dont think he will stay.Reminded me of Lochsong .Broke...ran away...couldnt get caught.Except she always hung on by less than 5 lengths. Can see him losing the Derby(if he runs)the speed he ran away at.....but would LOVE to see him win it.
PS...very few if any Derby horses have ran 1.5 miles at this stage in their 3 yearold career....and they do say the guineas is the best Derby trial!

I'm not sure if it'll run either mate so be careful with those ante post bets folks!
If it stays at a mile or 1m 1f it will NOT BE BEATEN,:shamrock:

Yes although you have to say if it does get a mile now, then a mile and a quarter shouldnt be outta range in the autumn....if the bastards dont retire it before then.Does my nut in that.

I remember that tosser the Aga Khan sending Zarkava off to get humped after winning the Arc..........i thought,"are you insane".I can understand it with a colt, but she can only ever have one foal a year and it will never reach her status!!!What was the point? Why not let the people see her run against the next generation? He is by far the worst for that.

Aye for a colt!!! But he keeps all his mares and breeds from them. But to get what?He already has a Zarkava....why not run her into the ground until she is 5.She made £3m from running over 2 years...she wont achieve that at stud for a long time...if at all.If it was a male...ok...but she aint!:31::31::31:

I know...you are right. The only time you see a top class 4 or 5 yearold now is when they achieve their greatness at 4.:31:
