Adam Virgo "Freed"
Adam Virgo "Freed"
Celtic have freed Adam Virgo from Celtic park only three years after paying Brighton £1.5 million for his services. He was thought to be a up and coming defender who could also play as a striker and for the price Celtic paid everyone thought that was a bargain for a player who could play more than one position.
But he never really broke into the first team, He only made 12 appearances in total, and was soon loaned out to Coventry City in 2006 but that loan was cut short due to a serious knee injury he picked up there.
In August 2007 he moved again on loan to Colchester for 6 months which was extended in December 31 until the end of 2007-2008 season. It is thought that Virgo cost Celtic in the region of £600,000 in wages during his time at Parkhead with a cost of £175,000 per game.
It is thought that Virgo could go back to Brighton and team up with boss Mickey Adams once more.
