Selling club intimates that you are selling your biggest assets for a profit after developing them and turning them into regular starters. I couldn't tell you the last time we sold a player from the starting line up for a profit that didn't make noises about wanting to leave i.e. Maloney and Petrov.

What you going on about?
Buying in cheap players (Miller was free, as you know), putting them on a stage - (3 goals in CL if I remember) & then punting them after a season or 2 for 3 million squids.
That's what selling clubs do.
Same with Deeks, picked him up on the cheap & punt him at a profit - his poor attitude has cost him the chance to perform on the big stage - but it'll be a profit anyway.
I think Sno will be the same.
The others I mention - as I say - only if a good offer comes in & we have a replacement lined up.
We're now much more savy than before, when we bought in established players for big bucks & let their contracts run out - Sutton, Hartson, Thommo, Lenny - need I go on.
Trust me. I don't think we'll sign another Gravesen, it'll be players like Hinkle & JVoH who could be sold for a higher price - or the more unknown huge potential players like Boruc, Naka, Vukojevic.
That's what I mean by a selling club, when the board give the manager funds for signings, I'm sure that they want a return in the future, no way we wouldv'e spent 4.5 million on Broon, if we didn't think he'd be worth more in a few years time.
