Im afraid not Dempsey, America is not the only place this happens unfortunatley. Look at the guildford four and the birmingham six for instance and here in Scotland a man (Robert Brown) served 25 years for murder and was released when new evidence proving his innocence came along and as for compensation? Robert brown was awarded quite a large amount, but of course NO amount of money can compensate you for spending 25 years of your life in prison with all sorts of criminals like rapists ,shoplifters, housebreakers , murderers and many more. But wait for it , here is the real kick in the balls and i mean A REAL KICK IN THE BALLS - after he was awarded his compensation he got the 1st instalment and had to wait (dont know if he is still waiting ) for the rest but the government had the barefaced cheek to CHARGE HIM FOR ROOM AND BOARD FOR THE 25 YEARS HE SPENT INSIDE!!!!!!!!!
